Brooke Shaw

Research Associate

Brooke Shaw is a Research Associate with WestWater Research, based in Sacramento, CA. She assists with water rights transactions research, market analysis, econometric and financial modeling, and water supply assessments across the Western U.S. Brooke joins WestWater Research from RTI International’s Center for Applied Economics and Strategy. There, she assisted with geospatial analyses, data visualization of model results, evaluation of innovation programs, cost-benefit analyses, and land and water-use optimization modeling.

While earning her M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Wyoming, Brooke’s graduate research focused on a comparative analysis of an innovative statistical approach to valuing conservation easements across distinct land markets in Colorado. She also assisted economists at the U.S. Geological Survey in researching non-market valuation approaches related to water quality improvements while obtaining her B.S. in Resource Economics at Colorado State University. Additionally, she conducted ecological research related to atmospheric mercury deposition in northern U.S. watersheds as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Michigan.
