SGMA Allocation & Trading – Challenges, Opportunities, and Implementation
Water allocation and transfer programs are commonly implemented to address scarce supply conditions and encourage innovative water management practices. Although these approaches are not new to California, the integration of groundwater allocations and trading is both novel and crucial to the successful implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) in many of the state’s priority areas.
Joined by a panel of experts, WestWater’s Bryce McAteer will be co-moderating a session focused on the challenges, opportunities, and implementation of new SGMA allocation & trading programs at the 4th Annual GRA GSA Summit on June 9th.
