WestWater Welcomes Summer Interns for 2017

WestWater Research is pleased to introduce our 2017 summer interns, Audrey Arnao and Lacey Moore.

Audrey Arnao is entering her senior year at the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University and is pursuing a degree in Economics. Audrey’s field of study has included Intermediate Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Business Writing, Business Law, and Finance. In 2016 she studied abroad and completed advanced courses in Conversational Spanish at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. While in Spain, Audrey also earned a Certificate of International Business Studies. In addition to her studies, Ms. Arnao served as an intern during the 2016 Senate Campaign for John McCain and has volunteered her time as a tutor for the Undergraduate Academic Services program at Arizona State.

“This internship directly relates to my interest in market research and analysis. I am excited to learn about how water markets operate and how they are evolving, especially considering the importance of this information to guide the efficient allocation of a precious resource.”

Audrey will spend the summer at WestWater’s Phoenix Arizona office before returning to ASU where she will graduate in the spring of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Lacey Moore is currently a Master’s student at Colorado State University, pursuing a degree in Agriculture and Resource Economics. A native Oregonian, she received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Economics and Policy as well as a GIS certificate from Oregon State University. Before starting her graduate program, Lacey acquired professional experience working cooperatively with landowners to allocate water for the benefit of agriculturalists and native fish species. In addition to her studies, Ms. Moore holds leadership positions with several state and national associations and organizations including the North American Cartographic Information Society and the Oregon FFA Alumni Association.

“As an intern for WestWater Research, I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge of water trading and to gain hands-on experience with water transaction research. My thesis work focuses on groundwater valuation in the Ogallala, and this internship will provide me with a valuable understanding of the water trading markets in the Ogallala region of Nebraska and Kansas while also getting my feet wet in the world of consulting.”

After spending a summer in WestWater’s Fort Collins Colorado office, Lacey will return to Colorado State University to complete her Master’s degree in Natural Resource Economics in the spring of 2018.

WestWater’s internship program is a competitive position which provides the opportunity for qualified graduate and undergraduate students to gain research and analytical experience and further develop their knowledge of the ever-expanding water market.
