Audrey Goddard is a Senior Associate and one of the longest-tenured employees at WestWater Research. Audrey manages and collaborates on water resource market analysis, due diligence, strategic planning, transaction advisory, deal structuring, brokering, valuation, and acquisition projects for agricultural, municipal, industrial, environmental, and investor clients in Arizona and California.

Audrey leads the Nasdaq Veles California Water Index (NQH2O), the first-of-its-kind index tracking the spot price of California, and is exclusively responsible for powering the NQH2O weekly value, which settles cash-based futures trading on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Audrey collects, screens, verifies, and manages California water transactions data totaling $4.5 billion over the past 10+ years to power the NQH2O. She communicates with a network of hundreds of water market participants to maintain the most comprehensive and up-to-date coverage. Audrey authors and publishes weekly newsletters containing sophisticated California water market analyses and scripts and presents in accompanying videos for a wide-reaching, subscription-based audience.

Audrey has mastered water resource valuation, including development of financial models, identification and verification of comparable sales, and deriving costs of alternative supplies. Audrey has completed valuations for expert testimony in publicly regulated utilities cases, among other uses. Audrey regularly works with expansive datasets and engineers and upgrades econometric models to forecast water prices. Such models have been relied upon by diverse clients including the United States Bureau of Reclamation for economic benefit analyses of federally funded water storage projects.

Audrey has originated robust research processes and data integrity standards to ensure WestWater’s California and Arizona market coverage are the most reliable pricing sources for water transactions. Audrey has sourced and acquired water assets for public and private clients in Arizona by inventorying potentially available supplies best suited to meet clients’ needs, conducting outreach to owners of various supplies to scout willing sellers, initiating and leading negotiations, and drafting purchase and sale agreements to close on various water acquisitions.
