Darren Fillmore

Agricultural Water Resource Director

Darren is the Agricultural Water Resource Director at WestWater Research. He has over 15 years of experience in agricultural water management and irrigation engineering. His expertise includes quantification of water conservation and water-use efficiency, agricultural hydrologic analysis, and flow measurement in open-channel and closed-conduit systems. Mr. Fillmore’s previous positions include Chief Water Engineer and Project Manager for SWIIM System where he led multi-disciplinary projects collecting and analyzing on-farm water-use data in major agricultural regions throughout the western US.

Mr. Fillmore also served as Senior Program Manager and Irrigation Engineer at Imperial Irrigation District where he piloted programs that continue to incentivize efficiency improvements and conservation on farms and in district conveyance systems in California’s Imperial Valley.

Darren holds a Master of Science degree in Irrigation Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering: Soil & Water Resource emphasis, both from Utah State University, and is a licensed civil engineer in the State of California. He has a family farm background and is passionate about sustainable agricultural water management.
